TELP Graduates 2018-2019

Through TELP, I've had the incredible opportunity to engage in deep professional learning on student-centred educational leadership and systems change - all while building relationships with an amazing group of innovative and dedicated educational leaders. Very thankful to Linda and Judy for an impactful and life changing learning experience.

The TEL Program was a wonderful opportunity to learn with other educators about deep learning environments which honour and care for all learners. Together we developed our adaptive expertise to be curious, collaborative and find coherence. It was the perfect equation of engaging + affirming + inspiring = transformational.

The prospect of learning alongside Judy and Linda attracted me to TELP. They challenged me to stretch my thinking and understanding of educational leadership. Their approach of developing an inquiry mindset as well as a deep conceptual understanding of research-proven pedagogical practices helps educators positively impact student learning.

Learning through collaboration - Under the guidance of Judy and Linda, the TELP program allowed me to grow as a learning leader through exposure to current research that was connected to practical applications, networking and collaborating. Judy and Linda as well as my TELP colleagues coaching and feedback, focused and transformed my practice.

TELP was a wonderful opportunity to meet educators from around the province and the Yukon and engage in professional, thought provoking discussions. The readings provided perspectives into system level thinking and allowed us all space to think about and deepen our practice. Judy and Linda are masters at facilitating connections!

I really enjoyed TELP and learned a lot along the way. Exploring the case studies and discussing the readings with the other participants (some of the best thinkers in our profession!), along with Judy and Linda's skillful guidance, definitely helped to push my thinking.

TELP has been a unique opportunity to learn from, engage and work with many of the leading educational thinkers and researchers from around the world, including Dr. Halbert and Dr. Kaser. The benefits to students and educators that come from the rich discussion that TELP affords extend far beyond the individuals in the network itself.

The Transformative Educational Leadership Program stretched me beyond my own perceived capacity. By taking the credit option, I was able to link what I was exposed to throughout the year (readings, guest speakers, NOIIE, etc) and connect it to deeper learning via my TEL Journal submission, slide deck presentation, reflections, and final paper.

Through the readings, discussions, guest speakers and networking- I now feel a part of the conversation provincially and globally. More importantly, I feel the confidence to take part in the conversation that is happening in my local school district on matters of Indigenous Education, inquiry and equity!

I feel truly fortunate to have been a part of TELP4. I came looking to re-engage academically with research to grow professionally; to say that I found this is an understatement. Judy and Linda have inspired me, equipped me and pushed me to transform my leadership for the benefit of my students. What a rich and rewarding experience it has been!

I thoroughly enjoyed my TELP experience. The "live case- studies", readings, and connections made with other educators has helped me to acquire more knowledge, courage and direction. Thank you Judy and Linda!

The TELP program is the most intensive, progressive and fulfilling experience in my career. Judy and Linda have thoughtfully orchestrated the program to flow from readings, group presentations and sharing to smaller cohort work and personal reflection. I left each weekend energized, inspired and transformed.

TELP inspired, challenged and nurtured my leadership skills. I loved connecting with colleagues across our province, Canada and the world to gain insight and skills that will support my efforts to make a difference for each learner in my school. The last year has been one of the most significant periods of professional and personal growth I have experienced. I am grateful to have shared this with so many incredible people.

It has been an honour and privilege to be part of TELP 4. Learning from and with so many exemplary leaders has been inspirational, and I look forward to continuing our learning journey in the years to come with our new network of TELP alumni. Thank you for your leadership, Judy and Linda!

TELP was instrumental in my personal and professional growth as a principal in British Columbia. Judy and Linda, and each learning partner in this year's cohort, helped push my thinking and expand my understanding of what being a transformative educational leader can be.

It is not an exaggeration when I say that TELP has changed the way I think. It has seeped into every aspect of my practice in a very positive way. Linda and Judy connect you with the best practices, the best readings, and the best people. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity.

TELP was a deep learning inquiry on how to transform and impact the systems I am part of. It was encouraging and uplifting to clarify my voice, speak my convictions, and receive the truths of all the leaders involved. Today I am more courageous in my leadership and clearer on how to support and lead innovative practices.

My experience in the Transformative Educational Leadership Program was outstanding. Both my brain and my heart are full. It has certainly expanded my understanding about education from a global perspective. My gratitude to Judy and Linda for creating such amazing learning opportunities and for being so inclusive.

Participating in the TELP program this year was truly transformative in my learning as a leader. Now I understand how using an inquiry mindset that focuses on what's best for our learners and comes from a place of curiosity, can lead to great change.

Judy and Linda masterfully designed and carried out the program to meet our diverse needs while challenging us to stay curious and inspiring us to do what is best for the students in our care. Using the spiral framework is a natural way to interact with the world but when it is applied to education I have discovered it to be a powerful tool to help bring me closer to understanding and meeting the needs of my learners.

TELP was an in-depth and rewarding professional learning journey. I have appreciated the opportunity to connect with researchers and educators on deeper learning, Indigenous education, and collaborative inquiry.

Meeting with the cohort at regular intervals to discuss deeply systems, equity, inquiry, and assessment strengthened understanding, built capacity and helped to solidify my thinking of what matters most in education. Bottom line: TELP participants + live case studies + relevant readings + exemplary leaders = superb professional learning.

The readings, experiences, and learning that came from TELP provided me with a rich foundation in current and relevant research. TELP motivates, inspires, and truly transforms leaders. Judy and Linda are thoughtful leaders who reminds us to do what matters most and to lead with productive persistence. Truly thankful for being a part of TELP!

Judy Halbert and Linda Kaser inspire courage and innovation and have helped us to journey into deeper waters. I appreciated the networked togetherness, with all of the program participants, living in the spiral and particularly for the time and space created to scan deeply.
